Former Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito has insisted he holds no ill will toward the club following his departure.
Zito, who replaced Prosper Narteh Ogum midway through last season, stepped down after Kotoko were eliminated from the FA Cup in a penalty shootout against Aduana FC. The Porcupine Warriors had won just one of six matches under his tenure leading up to the exit.
In an interview with Kessben FM, Zito said, “I left Asante Kotoko without any grudge. Not even being stabbed in the line of duty by bandits could sour me on the club. Coaches will always come and go. It is normal, so hard feelings at all.”
During his time at Kotoko, Zito guided the team to victories in the FA Cup, President Cup, Champion of Champions, and the Toyota Cup.
He has now accepted a new role as head coach of Division One League side AshantiGold.
