The former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asante Akyem Central, Hon. Robert Kwakye, has donated GH₵10,000 to support the construction and completion of an ultra-modern Teachers’ Hall at the Municipal Education Directorate in Konongo-Odumase.

He made the donation while chairing a high-profile fundraising event organised to mobilise resources for the landmark project.

The event brought together key stakeholders, including the Member of Parliament for the area, the current Municipal Chief Executive, the Odumasehene Nana Osei Tugyei II, heads of security agencies, departmental directors, and hundreds of teachers across the municipality.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Kwakye, who is a former teacher, commended the Municipal Director of Education and his team for initiating the project, describing it as a trailblazing initiative within the Ashanti Region and beyond.

He noted that education in both rural and urban communities in Asante Akyem Central has improved significantly under the current leadership of the Education Directorate, achievements which he said have earned recognition at both regional and national levels.

The Teachers’ Hall is expected to serve as a dedicated facility for professional development, workshops and collaboration among educators in the municipality.

Hon. Kwakye also appealed to parents, alumni, community leaders, business owners and corporate organisations to contribute towards the successful completion of the project.
