In a bid to promote development in the Afram Plains, particularly in the northern region, the Member of Parliament (MP), Worlase Kpeli, has accepted an invitation from his predecessor, Betty Krosbi Mensah and local residents to join forces in supporting the government’s efforts to uplift the area.

The gathering was a moment of great joy for supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as Betty Krosbi Mensah, a two-term MP and the current National Coordinator for the National Recreation & Wellness Program, took center stage.

Krosbi Mensah organized the national event after conducting similar initiatives in other constituencies.

The event saw participation from traditional leaders and residents, particularly the youth, who engaged in various recreational and wellness activities. Both indoor and outdoor events were organized to foster unity among the community members.

Speaking at the event, Betty Krosbi Mensah urged constituents to come together and rally behind their leaders to facilitate development in the region.

She emphasized that significant progress has been made, but much work still lies ahead. Additionally, she advocated for healthy practices to help achieve their health goals, encouraging residents of Donkokrom to incorporate regular exercise into their daily routines.

As the National Coordinator of the National Recreation and Wellness Program, Krosbi Mensah assured the community of her ongoing support for their development.

She also mentioned that similar events will be held across all regions of Ghana, as it aligns with President John Mahama’s policy to promote good health and reduce, if not eliminate, non-communicable diseases that currently account for nearly half of all deaths in the country.

Worlase Kpeli, the Independent MP for Afram Plains North, praised the former MP for her dedication to the community and assured attendees that their leaders would collaborate to propel the Afram Plains forward. Prizes and cash rewards were distributed to deserving teams and participants during the event.
