The Member of Parliament for Fomena Constituency and Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Lawyer Andrew Amoako Asiamah, has shown support for Junior High School (JHS) final-year students preparing for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

At a brief ceremony held at Dompoase Methodist Basic School in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region, the MP donated 1,300 mathematical sets to candidates within his constituency to aid their exam preparation.

Speaking to Adom News after the presentation, Lawyer Amoako Asiamah encouraged the students to stay confident and trust the knowledge they have acquired.

He advised them to avoid all forms of examination malpractice and cautioned against bringing unauthorized materials into the exam halls. He also condemned the involvement of some teachers in facilitating cheating, highlighting how such actions damage the integrity of the education system.

Bernard Boakye Yiadom, Human Resource Manager of the Adansi North Education Directorate, who represented the District Director of Education, praised the MP for his consistent support. He noted that this donation has become an annual tradition to motivate students.

According to him, 1,204 candidates have registered for this year’s BECE in the district, including 560 boys and 644 girls. He added that the students have been well-prepared through five rounds of mock exams organized by the directorate with support from the MP and Nana Adansihene.

Mr. Boakye Yiadom, however, expressed concern over poor road conditions in the district, which continue to hinder effective teaching and learning.

Some of the beneficiary students expressed gratitude for the mathematical sets and pens. One student also appealed for the reconstruction of their dilapidated KG block to ensure a safer learning environment for younger pupils.
