A tragic accident on the Kumasi–Accra highway at Asuboi, near Suhum in the Eastern Region, has left at least five people dead and several others injured.
The incident, which happened earlier today, involved a Sprinter bus with registration number GW-5535-24.
According to eyewitness accounts, the bus was moving at top speed when one of its tyres suddenly burst, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The collision was so severe that five passengers died instantly. Rescue efforts were delayed, with emergency teams arriving at the scene about 30 minutes after the crash.
The injured victims were later transported to the Suhum Government Hospital for medical care.
