Firefighters have rescued 25 people, including four children, after a Benz Transit bus was involved in a road crash on the Peki–Anyensu stretch of the Peki–Asikuma road in the Volta Region.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said perssonnel from the Peki Fire Station swiftly responded to the scene after the accident occurred on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
In a statement issued on Thursday, July 23, the Volta Regional Public Relations Office of the GNFS said the rescue team safely extricated all 25 occupants of the vehicle, made up of 21 adults and four children.
No deaths were recorded in the incident.

Following the rescue operation, the Fire Service renewed its call on motorists to prioritise road safety by driving responsibly and observing traffic regulations.
The Service urged drivers to “exercise caution and adhere to road safety regulations to help reduce road traffic crashes.”
