The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana National Fire Service, Alex King Nartey, has revealed a shocking case involving a man who called the emergency hotline to request sex from a female officer at the call centre.
In a post shared on social media, Mr. Nartey expressed frustration over the continued abuse of emergency lines, saying his earlier warnings about prank and inappropriate calls were met with disbelief and insults.
To back his claims, he released a video recording of one such call received at the Fire Service’s emergency response centre.
“As promised, I am dropping the video of the guy who called a fire emergency line to ask for sex from the call centre officer. When granting interviews, I speak facts, so before you jump to insult me for making a statement, let’s not underestimate the sick things people are capable of doing,” he posted.
Although there were initial plans to include the caller’s phone number, Mr. Nartey said he blurred it out following advice from the public.
He further urged Ghanaians to be responsible and desist from abusing the emergency system, which exists to save lives and protect property.
