A fire outbreak has destroyed a kindergarten classroom at Baiden Walker Basic School in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District of the Central Region.
Several items including books, documents and other learning materials were severely damaged in the process.
However, the prompt effort of the Abura Dunkwa Fire Station salvaged other blocks from ruins.
Firefighters managed to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to adjoining classrooms and the rest of the school building.
Fortunately, no casualties were recorded.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Ghana National Fire Service.
The Central Regional PRO of the Fire Service confirmed the incident and commended the crew for their rapid response and professionalism.
