Properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis have been destroyed following a fire outbreak at Sunyani Zongo in the Sunyani East Municipality of the Bono Region.
The fire, which gutted several shops in the area, destroyed items including building materials such as paints, sewing machines, and other materials used in clothing production.

Confirming the incident, the Bono Regional Fire Commander, ACFO II Cecil Addo, said the Ghana National Fire Service received a distress call at about 9:13 a.m. reporting the outbreak at the market.
He explained that the intensity of the fire overwhelmed the first response team, forcing them to call for reinforcements to help contain the blaze.
No casualties were recorded, but traders suffered heavy losses as a result of the inferno. Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
One of the victims, fashion designer Kofi Kumi, popularly known as KK, recounted how he lost all his belongings in the fire. He described being devastated as the flames rapidly spread through shops and stores, drawing large crowds to the scene.
