The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has swiftly contained a commercial fire that broke out at the Reddington Beach Hotel in Whuti, in the Anloga District, averting what could have been a major disaster.

A distress call was placed to the Anloga Fire Station reporting flames at the beachfront facility. A response team led by Station Officer II Lumor Tobias was immediately deployed.

When firefighters arrived, they found ‘Chalet One’, one of the hotel’s commercial lodges, already engulfed in flames.

According to officials, the fire had the potential to spread rapidly through the facility and to nearby structures due to the nature of materials used in the chalets.

The crew moved quickly to battle the blaze, confining it to the affected apartment and preventing it from spreading to the rest of the hotel. Their timely intervention brought the situation under control before any adjoining properties were impacted.

Firefighters later extinguished the flames completely, with no casualties reported.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established, but investigations are underway.
