A fire outbreak at Ritz Junction near the Ashaley Botwe Taxi Station in Madina has destroyed several structures but spared dozens of vehicles and motorbikes.
The blaze, which occurred on Sunday, April 12, 2026, gutted 12 metal containers and 18 wooden structures along with their contents.
Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly after receiving a distress call, deploying fire tenders from the Madina, Adenta, and Legon fire stations to the scene.
Firefighters arrived to find the fire well alight and spreading rapidly but managed to confine and eventually extinguish it after hours of intense operations.
Despite the destruction, a nearby mechanic workshop containing 40 vehicles and 25 motorbikes, as well as about 20 adjoining metal containers, were successfully salvaged.
No casualties were recorded, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
