Firefighters from the Koforidua Metro Fire Station swiftly contained an electrical fire that destroyed a high-tension pole at Okorase Amertey Junction.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service, the crew arrived within minutes after receiving the distress call.

On arrival, personnel found the pole engulfed in flames, posing a potential danger to nearby residents and properties.

Firefighters waited for officials from the Electricity Company of Ghana to isolate and cut power to the affected line before beginning suppression efforts.

The blaze was eventually extinguished using water from a hose reel.

The incident caused partial damage to the pole and its cut-out fuse, but no additional hazards were recorded.

Authorities say power restoration and structural assessment are currently being handled by ECG engineers.

No injuries were reported.
