Fire destroys 15-bedroom house, GH₵100k in Gomoa Dominase

A devastating fire has destroyed a 15-bedroom house and cash amounting to GH₵100,000 at Gomoa Dominase in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

The property, owned by the Abusuapayin of Gomoa Dominase, Nana Kweku Botwe, was completely consumed by the blaze along with several other valuables.

Speaking to Adom News, Nana Kweku Botwe lamented that the tragedy could have been prevented if fire tenders in nearby Winneba, Apam, and Swedru were operational.

“We called all the fire stations, but they told us their machines have not been working for months. If they had responded on time, the house and money could have been saved,” he said.

Patrick Abeka, the Assembly Member for Gomoa Dominase Electoral Area, has called on the government to urgently repair and equip fire service vehicles in the three towns to prevent future disasters.

“This is not the first time lives and properties have been lost because of faulty fire tenders. The government must act quickly,” Mr. Abeka stressed.
