An early morning fire outbreak has caused damage to a container at the Suhum Market, prompting a swift response from firefighters.
The blaze, which occurred at the entrance of the busy market, engulfed a container in flames before personnel from the Suhum Fire Station arrived at the scene.
A six-member crew, dispatched immediately after a distress call, managed to bring the fire under control within minutes and fully extinguished it.
Preliminary investigations suggest that negligence by welders was the likely cause. Authorities say hot metal was left on wooden materials after welding work on the container, sparking the fire.
Although no casualties were recorded, the container sustained partial damage.
Officials continue to urge artisans and traders to adhere strictly to safety protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.
