The Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is scheduled to present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament today, November 13, 2025.
The presentation, set for 2:00 pm, will be made in accordance with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution, which mandates the government to lay before Parliament its financial and economic plans for the coming year.
The budget is expected to outline the government’s financial strategy and policy priorities for the 2026 fiscal year, including measures aimed at promoting economic growth and ensuring fiscal stability.
Ahead of the presentation, Dr. Forson engaged traders at Takoradi’s Market Circle as part of his ongoing stakeholder consultations.
Describing the encounter as the highlight of his visit to the Western Region, he said discussions with the market women were both humbling and inspiring.
Meanwhile, the Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, has disclosed that the Business Committee has observed a significant number of pending referrals before various committees of the House.
He revealed that about 300 referrals have been directed to 23 committees for consideration and reporting, and urged them to expedite work on their pending assignments as the House prepares for the budget presentation and subsequent debate.
