Final funeral rites held for late Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Limuna Muniru

The final funeral rites of the late Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Limuna Mohammed Muniru, were held on Sunday, August 24, in Damongo, the capital of the Savannah Region.

The ceremony, which took place at the Astro Turf Park from 9:00 a.m., drew a large gathering of mourners, including government officials, traditional rulers, political leaders, diplomats, and citizens from across the country who came to pay their last respects.

Alhaji Muniru, also known by his traditional title Sandape-Wura Buwulonso I, tragically lost his life in the helicopter crash of Wednesday, August 6, in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.

He was among eight people who perished in the accident.

The aircraft, which was en route to Obuasi, was carrying several senior government officials, including the Minister of Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah; the Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed; NDC Vice Chairman, Samuel Sarpong; and former parliamentary candidate, Samuel Aboagye.

The flight crew, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, also lost their lives in the crash.
