Chairman of the FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has expressed his willingness to continue in his role—but only if he is granted full autonomy to carry out his duties.
The Skyy FC President has led the Committee since November 2019, taking over from Kurt Okraku.
Although his first season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, the committee has since successfully organised three consecutive FA Cup campaigns.
Following the conclusion of a fourth successful season, Mr. Arthur stated that his future with the committee hinges on having the freedom to operate without interference.
“For me to continue as the Chairman of the FA Cup Committee is not only in my power,” he told Sporty FM.
“But I will only continue as the Chairman of the FA Cup if I am given the room to have control over what we are doing,” he added.
Asante Kotoko were crowned champions of the 2024/25 FA Cup after a 2-1 victory over Golden Kick FC. The win secures their qualification for the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
