Asante Kotoko staged a spirited comeback to oust Future Stars FC 2-1 and advance in the FA Cup on Wednesday afternoon at the Ejisu Park.

The Porcupine Warriors endured a difficult first half, falling behind to a Joel Agbovi strike as the Division Two side went into the break with a surprising lead.

Kotoko returned stronger after the interval and levelled matters through Hubert Gyau before Peter Acquah Amidu sealed the turnaround with a late winner to push the holders into the next stage of the competition.

The victory sends the defending champions into the Round of 32, with their next opponents to be revealed on Tuesday, December 16.

The matches for that stage are scheduled between December 30 and January 1, 2025.
