Ewurabena Aubynn officially sworn in as Ablekuma North MP

The Member of Parliament-elect for Ablekuma North, Ewurabena Aubynn of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been officially sworn into office by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.

Her induction follows a hard-fought victory in a parliamentary rerun for the constituency.

The rerun, held across 19 polling stations, was necessitated after the Electoral Commission (EC) annulled the original December 2024 parliamentary results over allegations of electoral irregularities and the submission of unauthenticated pink sheets.

The EC’s decision followed complaints of discrepancies in vote figures, unsigned result sheets, and breaches of procedure during the collation process.

In the rerun earlier this month, Aubynn secured 34,090 votes, narrowly defeating the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Akua Afriyie, who garnered 33,881 votes.
