Evangelist Papa Shee has refuted claims that Akosua Serwaa, wife of the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, abandoned him, insisting instead that the musician chose to leave his family in Germany and permanently relocate to Ghana.

Speaking on Adom TV’s morning show Badwam, Papa Shee said Daddy Lumba initially travelled back and forth between Germany and Ghana but later decided on his own to settle in Ghana. He stressed that reports suggesting Akosua Serwaa left her husband are false and misleading.

“Daddy Lumba was the one who disowned his family in Germany and then came to Ghana. Akosua did not leave Lumba; he left her. He would go back and forth, but ultimately he decided to stay in Ghana. Therefore, the reports claiming that Akosua Serwaa was the one who left Lumba are completely false. He abandoned his wife and children,” he said.

According to Papa Shee, Akosua Serwaa supported Daddy Lumba from the early stages of his career and has been unfairly maligned because she does not engage in social media to address personal matters.

He also clarified that she last visited Ghana in 2017, contrary to claims that she had not seen the musician for over a decade.

Papa Shee further stated that Akosua Serwaa was unaware of Daddy Lumba’s relationship with Odo Broni and cautioned the public against spreading unverified allegations.

“We should be cautious about the allegations made against Akosua Serwaa; they are not true. She stood by him through thick and thin from the very beginning. Many lies have been spread about her. She is not a social media person and won’t air her family issues online. Akosua came to Ghana in 2017, so the narrative that it has been 13 years since she last saw Lumba is inaccurate. Lumba did not hide his wife; everyone was aware of her. Akosua Serwaa was unaware that Lumba was having an affair with Odo Broni,” he added.

Meanwhile, thousands of mourners have gathered at Heroes Park at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to pay their final respects to the late musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.
