Engr. Kwame Adu-Mante celebrates professional milestone with IET Ghana

Engr. Kwame Adu-Mante, a distinguished Building Technologist with over two decades of professional experience, has reached a significant milestone in his career by gaining institutional membership with the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana (IET-GH) in 2025.

A proud alumnus of Takoradi Technical University, Engr. Adu-Mante holds a Bachelor of Technology in Construction, an HND in Building Technology, and a Certificate in Building Construction from Obuasi Secondary Technical School.

Over the past 23 years, he has amassed a wealth of practical experience, navigating the complexities and challenges of the building and construction profession.

Determined to elevate his expertise and credentials, Engr. Adu-Mante made the bold decision to return to rigorous academic preparation, undertaking the professional engineering examinations required for certification.

His commitment culminated in his successful qualification as a Professional Engineering Technologist—a title that reflects both his technical proficiency and dedication to the engineering discipline.

Reflecting on the achievement, Engr. Adu-Mante remarked with heartfelt gratitude, “This is the day the Lord has made.” His story is not only a personal triumph but also a powerful testament to perseverance, lifelong learning, and professional excellence in shaping a successful engineering career.

Brief Profile

Mr. Kwame Adu-Mante is an accomplished professional with a diverse background. He currently serves as a Council Member of the Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA) and a Board Member of the Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal Health Committee.

In 2003, after graduating from TTU, he founded Focus One Enterprise, which has evolved into the FOCUS ONE GROUP headquartered in Takoradi. The group has interests in Media, FMCG, and Construction. Its subsidiaries include Focus 1 Media, which manages Spice FM and Beach FM in Sekondi-Takoradi, PLUZZ FM in Accra, and Orange FM in Kumasi; Focus One Distribution, an FMCG redistribution business; and Focus One Construction, a growing construction firm operating primarily in Ghana’s southern and middle belts.

Engr. Adu-Mante’s extensive involvement in entrepreneurship is further demonstrated through his roles as Director of Kess Pharmaceuticals Limited, OLIVE Health and Diagnostics, and Bahamus Limited.

A philanthropist at heart, he has adopted the Sekondi Prisons for the past 13 years, providing consistent support every Valentine’s Day. He also sponsors students at various tertiary and secondary institutions and supports community water projects.

His commitment to excellence began in 1997 at Obuasi Secondary Technical in the Ashanti Region. After 23 years away from formal academic studies, he returned to the classroom and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Project Management at GIMPA, with an expected graduation in January 2026.
