Family, colleagues, and members of the public came together in solemn tribute to honour the late Engr. Seth Ayim, Executive Director of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), during his one-week observance.
The ceremony was marked by heartfelt remembrances, as attendees shared personal stories and reflections on the late engineer’s profound impact.
Throughout the event, family, friends, and well-wishers highlighted Engr. Ayim’s role not just as a leader, but as a mentor, a humble advocate for positive change, and a model of integrity in Ghana’s engineering sector.
The family announced that the final funeral rites will take place in Kumasi from April 17th to 19th, providing an opportunity for those who loved him to celebrate his life and legacy.
In an interview with Adom News, Wonder Davor, President of IET-Ghana, described the shockwaves Engr. Ayim’s passing sent through the engineering community.
“His loss is a big blow to all of us. Engr. Seth Ayim was not just an Executive Director; he embodied humility and dedication,” Engr. Davor said. “No matter a person’s age, position, or background, he treated everyone with respect and kindness, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
Tributes also came from Isaac Bedu, Registrar of the Engineering Council of Ghana, who praised Engr. Ayim’s unwavering commitment to advancing the profession. “Seth was a true champion for the engineering community,” Ing. Bedu said. “His tireless efforts to build a robust engineering culture in Ghana will continue to resonate for years to come.”
As attendees reflected on his legacy, it was clear that Engr. Ayim’s influence extended far beyond his role as Executive Director. His passion, humility, and dedication to strengthening Ghana’s engineering sector have left an indelible mark.
