The President of the Elite Diamond Ladies Club, Millicent Amoah Addae, has called on women to pursue income-generating ventures as a pathway to independence and empowerment.

According to her, financial vulnerability remains one of the major factors that expose women to exploitation and limit their ability to make confident life choices.

“When a woman earns her own income, she gains power—the power to take care of herself, make informed decisions, and live with dignity,” she stated.

Mrs. Amoah Addae made the remarks during a Dinner with Patrons held at the Lancaster Hotel, an event organised by the club to foster unity among members and express gratitude to God for His guidance throughout the year.

She emphasised that empowerment must go beyond rhetoric and be backed by practical opportunities that enable women to thrive economically.

“We believe that when women work hard and achieve financial stability, they are less vulnerable and more confident to pursue their dreams,” she added.

Highlighting the club’s social impact, the President revealed that the Elite Diamond Ladies Club sponsored about 500 head porters in Accra last year, with plans to extend support to more beneficiaries on December 28 this year.

She noted that the club remains committed to promoting women’s empowerment through entrepreneurial skills training, emotional support, and capacity-building initiatives aimed at helping women become both economically and socially resilient.

In her concluding remarks, Mrs. Amoah Addae urged women to take personal responsibility for their growth.

“Every woman must invest in herself, embrace empowerment, and work towards reaching her full potential,” she said.
