Empowering Better Life Foundation supports Papase St. Peters Basic School

-

Non-governmental organisation Empowering Better Life Foundation has supported St. Peter’s Basic School at Papaase in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region with educational materials.

The items included sanitary pads, mathematical sets, note pads, hand sanitizers, pens, a printer, snacks, and an undisclosed amount of money.

The founder, Alma Adade-Prempeh, in an interview with Adom News, said the gesture forms part of the foundation’s corporate social responsibility.

Mrs. Adade-Prempeh pledged their continuous support to the school and further committed to providing sanitary pads to girls to prevent them from seeking help from men to purchase them.

Receiving the items, the headmaster, Gershon Hlordzi, expressed gratitude to the foundation for their timely intervention.

On the sidelines, Mr. Hlordzi appealed for improved infrastructure to ease congestion in classrooms.

As the only public school in the community, he noted that several pupils from neighbouring communities walk over two hours to school each day, negatively affecting academic performance.

He revealed that the school’s population is overwhelming, with each class accommodating about 120 to 150 students.
