Musician Patapaa was visibly overwhelmed with grief as he mourned his late mother, Madam Ekua Boatema, during her one-week observation ceremony on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Assisim near Duke’s Filling Station in Agona Swedru.
The “One Corner” hitmaker shed uncontrollable tears while family members and close associates gathered around him to offer comfort. At several moments, he bowed his head and leaned on relatives for support, as sympathisers watched the emotional scenes unfold.
The ceremony drew a large crowd of mourners, including family, friends, and community members, who came to pay their respects and honour the memory of Madam Boatema, affectionately known as “Boat.”
Her passing has dealt a heavy emotional blow to Patapaa, who has often spoken about the pivotal role his mother played in his life and music career.
