Christford Affadu Danful, popularly known as Ekow Black, has appeared before the Adabraka Magistrate Court over an alleged case of domestic abuse.
The 25-year-old unemployed man was charged with assault, contrary to Section 84 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
According to the particulars of the offence, Ekow Black is accused of assaulting Rachel Oduro without her consent, intending to cause harm and pain. The prosecution alleges that the accused subjected the complainant to a severe beating on November 30, 2025, within the Accra Magisterial District.
The case drew widespread attention after a video of the incident went viral, though the accused argued that the assault occurred several months ago.
Ekow Black also faces additional charges, including threats to share intimate images and sextortion.
The court granted the accused bail in the sum of GH₵30,000 with sureties. He is expected to reappear before the court on February 10, 2026.
