Chief Executive Officer of Crown Peak Holdings, Dr. Kobbina Tuyee Awuah, has highlighted the importance of education in shaping entrepreneurial success, noting that school provides structure, discipline, and valuable relationships that often extend into business life.

Speaking on The Career Trail on Joy Learning TV and Joy News, he said education plays a foundational role in preparing individuals for both employment and entrepreneurship.

“School is important for a number of reasons. My experience at Opoku Ware was one of the best parts of my educational journey. I made friends there who eventually became business partners and family,” he said.

“So education gives you structure. Even though entrepreneurship is not as structured as a nine to five job, school teaches you how to think in a structured way,” he added.

Dr. Awuah further noted that education also plays a signaling role for entrepreneurs seeking investment or partnerships.

“It sends a positive signal to investors and partners when you have an educational background,” he highlighted.

Beyond academics, he stressed the importance of friendships formed during school years, noting that relationships can significantly influence long-term success.

“While you go to school, note that the friends you make matter a lot. Some of my closest friends today are people I met in school, and they have become key parts of my journey,” he shared.

However, he cautioned that not all friendships are beneficial, advising young people to be intentional about the company they keep.

“You have to be careful about the friends you choose. If you make a friend who smokes, you will also begin to smoke. The people around you can either build you or pull you down,” he advised.

Dr. Awuah concluded that education remains a critical foundation for entrepreneurs, not only for knowledge acquisition but also for discipline, structure, and networks that support long-term success.
