Education office in Ashanti committed to zero tolerance for exam malpractice – Director

The Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Dr. William Kwame Amankrah Appiah, has warned that any WASSCE candidate caught engaging in examination malpractice in the region will be prosecuted in court.

According to him, exam malpractice negatively impacts the nation, and if not addressed, could lead to severe consequences.

Speaking at a WAEC sensitization program for over 300 WASSCE candidates in Kumasi,
Dr. Appiah emphasized that teachers who facilitate malpractice will also face the law.

“In the Ashanti Region, we will not spare anyone caught in malpractice,” he stated.

Dr. Appiah said the recent BECE, several students caught in malpractices, are being processed to court, with their papers to be cancelled.

He observed that students who engage in malpractice could grow to become professionals, such as doctors and nurses, who might give incorrect prescriptions to patients, highlighting the gravity of the issue.
