The Queen Mother of Grubi in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region, Nana Kefulesi Linda Apreko Aseidu I, has called on parents and guardians to prioritize the moral upbringing and education of their children.
Speaking at the 20th Anniversary celebration of Grubi Holy Child Academy, Nana Kefulesi stressed the importance of instilling discipline, respect, and good character alongside academic knowledge.
“The future of our community and nation depends on how well we raise our children morally and academically. A child with knowledge but without values is a danger to society,” she said.
She further cautioned against the growing culture of materialism among parents, noting that many spend lavishly on fashion and social events while neglecting their children’s educational needs.
“Some parents spend huge amounts of money on expensive clothes and parties but claim they cannot afford school fees or books. This must change. Education is the greatest gift we can give to our children,” she emphasized.
The anniversary marked two decades of academic excellence and character training at Grubi Holy Child Academy. Established in 2005, the school has grown into a leading institution in the district, noted for its strong academic record and holistic approach to education.
The celebration featured cultural displays, poetry recitals, drama performances, and award presentations. Alumni, local leaders, and former teachers joined the occasion to reflect on the school’s impact and discuss ways to secure its future growth.
Nana Kefulesi concluded by urging parents, teachers, and the wider community to collaborate in raising well-rounded children who can contribute meaningfully to national development.
