Eddie Hearn hints at potential Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury bout in Ghana

Renowned boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that discussions are underway to stage a blockbuster heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury in Ghana.

Hearn, who heads Matchroom Boxing, described the anticipated showdown as the fight fans around the world most want to see before both British fighters exit their peak years.

“I think he’s going to have one fight in January or February, and we are looking to do that in Ghana,” Hearn said in an interview on Link Up TV, excerpts of which were featured in the Netflix boxing documentary The Greatest Showmen.

“I think it will be unbelievable for him [Anthony Joshua] to fight in Africa. It will be amazing, and then we want Fury,” he added.

Joshua has strengthened ties with Ghana, visiting the country earlier this year to attend a boxing event organized by former British world champion Amir Khan at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.

While talks of a Fury–Joshua super fight have dragged on for years without fruition, Hearn’s latest comments suggest Ghana could emerge as a surprise venue for one of the most anticipated bouts in modern boxing.
