Firefighters from the Anfoega Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have successfully contained an electrical fire involving an Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) transformer at Vakpo Senior High School.
According to the GNFS, the incident occurred when the transformer, located within the school premises, caught fire under circumstances suspected to be electrical in nature.
Upon receipt of a distress call, personnel from the Anfoega Fire Station were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The firefighters arrived promptly and swiftly brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby school structures and facilities.
The fire was fully extinguished within a short time, with no injuries recorded and no additional damage reported.

The GNFS said the quick response and effective handling of the situation helped safeguard students, staff, and school property.
Normal activities at the school were not significantly disrupted following the incident.
The Service has advised institutions and the general public to regularly inspect electrical installations and report any faults early to prevent similar occurrences.
