The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has released its maintenance timetable for the week, warning customers in several regions to expect temporary power interruptions as engineers undertake planned and emergency works.
Tema Enclave
Outages in the Tema area will begin on Sunday, February 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., affecting Fennice, Saglemi, Metal, Lakpleku, Housing, RSG, Rainbow Paints, Bundase Military Training Camp, TT Brothers, Macbaron Charllets, Zonda Trucks, and nearby communities.
On Monday, February 23, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., areas including Leisure Hours, Nungua Zongo, Royal Park, Blue Blue, Kpeshie Divisional Headquarters, Coco Beach, and surrounding communities will be impacted.
Tuesday, February 24, will see outages in Kpong, Odumase, Nuaso, Agormeda, Kojonya, Community 19 Annex, Lashibi, Klagon, and adjoining areas.
The Tema schedule concludes on Thursday, February 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., affecting GCB Training School, Buade, Kokobribri, Royal Ravico, Junction Mall, Watch Tower, Alton Hotel, Regimanuel Estates, Queensland International School, Old Ningo, New Ningo, and nearby locations.
Accra East Region
An emergency exercise will take place on Sunday, February 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Electro Volta House and surrounding areas. Planned works continue on Monday, February 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Teiman, Ga East Hospital, Boshe Norman, and nearby communities.
On Tuesday, February 24, outages will impact Santana Market, Ayikuma, Doryumu, Kodeabe, and adjoining areas. Wednesday, February 25, will see shutdowns in La Cemetery, parts of Burma Camp, Twumasiwaa Hospital, Dzen Ayor, Ability, and nearby communities.
Thursday, February 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will affect Lakeside Estate (Communities 6 and 8), New Legon, Block Factory (East Legon), Sasaabi Township, Mensah Bar, and surrounding areas.
Emergency maintenance on Sunday, February 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will also impact Latter Day Saint Headquarters, Ghana Immigration Service, Alisa Hotel, Swiss Embassy, WAEC, and nearby facilities. Planned works from Monday, February 23, to Thursday, February 26, will rotate across several communities, including Abedi Pele Park, Dunyo, Red Top, Old Barrier, New Aplaku, Eden Height, Kings University, Alogboshie, Achimota Neoplan, Benjilo, Akweteyman, New Bortianor, Katapor, Edusa, Tetegu, White Cross, Doblo, Hebron, Medie, Sarpeiman, Satellite, John Teye, and Fountain Gate Chapel.
Central Region
Two maintenance exercises are planned. On Monday, February 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., outages will affect Saltpond Zongo, Kurankyekrom, Kormantse, Abandze, parts of Anomabo, Ekurabadze, Asafora, and nearby communities. A larger exercise will follow on Thursday, February 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., impacting Abonko, Anokyi, Henii, Nananom Junction, Roman Hospital, Bafikrom, Greenwood, New Nkusukum, Krampakrom, Inshalahu, Saltpond Zongo, Kurankyekrom, Kormantse, Abandze, parts of Anomabo, Ekurabadze, Asafora, and adjoining areas.
Ashanti Region
Emergency works will occur on Sunday, February 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., affecting Barekese Headworks, Ahenkro, Kodie, Aduamoa, Aduman, Seidi, Nkawie, Afari, Toase, Gyankobaah, Kasaprako, Sepaase, Hiawu Besease, Edwanfo, Abuakwa Maakro, Tetrem, and nearby communities. Planned maintenance will follow on Tuesday, February 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., covering Agona Municipal Assembly, Agona Police Station, Agona Zongo, Bipoa Town, Bodomase, Afamaso, and surrounding areas.
ECG says the temporary shutdowns are aimed at improving service reliability and apologizes for the inconvenience caused.
