President John Mahama has nominated the 2024 National Democratic Congress(NDC) parliamentary candidate for Asante Akyem Central, Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo, as the Municipal Chief Executive Officer(MCE).
His nomination is announced in line with Article 243 of the 1992 constitution as the Local Governance Act, 2016(Act 936) as amended by the Local Governance (Amendment) Act,2017, and currently pending approval by the Asante Akyem Central Assembly.
Asante Akyem Central Municipal is one of the 260 metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies(MMDAs) in Ghana and forms part of the 43 MMDAs in the Ashanti region with Konongo as its Administrative Capital.
Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo is a Deputy Director of the Ghana Education Service(GES) holds a PHD, and is also a Reverend Minister.
