In a heartfelt tribute to their enduring humanitarian service, Nathan Levin and Linda Donald, co-founders of Easy Water for Everyone, have been enstooled with honorary chieftaincy titles by the Pediatokorpe community in the Ada East District of Ghana’s Greater Accra Region.
At a durbar held in their honour to mark the organization’s 10th anniversary in Ghana, Nathan Levin was enstooled as Nene Pakporm Nyukpakpa Noryami Mantse, the Ada Islands Water and Health Development Chief, while Linda Donald was given the title Naana Pakporm Nyukpakpa Noryami Manye, the Ada Islands Water and Health Development Queen Mother.
The titles recognise their exceptional contributions towards improving access to clean water and advancing public health in underserved communities.
Reflecting on the milestone, Nathan Levin said, “We are truly grateful. It is a great pleasure, and this moment will remain in our hearts.”
Speaking at the durbar, Dr. Philip Narh, Medical Superintendent of Ada East District Hospital, commended the co-founders for their invaluable work. He noted that during the recent Akosombo Dam disaster—which caused severe flooding, displacement, and a cholera outbreak—communities equipped with Easy Water’s filtration systems, particularly Pediatokorpe, were largely spared from waterborne illnesses.
A Decade of Impact
Founded ten years ago, Easy Water for Everyone has been at the forefront of addressing water scarcity in remote and marginalized communities. Using innovative, sustainable, and electricity-free filtration systems, the organization has provided clean, safe drinking water to more than 30,000 people across over 40 communities in Ghana, Senegal, and Uganda.
Their mission to reach “last-mile” communities has resulted in improved health outcomes and reduced waterborne diseases in the areas served.
Harrison Matti, Country Director of Easy Water for Everyone, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to expanding operations in Ghana, calling for collaboration: “We are committed to scaling up our efforts across the country. We invite organizations passionate about providing clean water to deprived communities in Ghana to partner with us. Together, we can reach more people and create lasting impact.”
The Member of Parliament for Ada East, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, also praised the co-founders, recalling her visit to the U.S., where she witnessed their dedication firsthand. “Nathan and Linda used their retirement savings to fund this mission. Their passion and selflessness continue to touch countless lives, and we are grateful,” she stated.
Beyond Water: A Holistic Approach
Beyond water provision, Easy Water for Everyone recently donated a two-bedroom house to Patricia Owula, a victim of the Akosombo Dam spillage in Kewuse, Ada. Additionally, 50 bags of cement were donated to Daniel Gidimajor to support reconstruction efforts. Both beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude for the life-changing support.
A Community Celebration
The durbar featured vibrant cultural and traditional performances by local students, reinforcing the bond between the organization and the communities it serves.
In interviews, community members shared emotional testimonies on how access to clean water transformed their lives, urging the continuation and expansion of the initiative to benefit more communities in need.
A Legacy of Service and Sustainability
Mary Owusu, Admin and Project Support Officer at Easy Water for Everyone, emphasized the organization’s commitment to sustainable growth and broader outreach. Their simple yet powerful water filtration technology continues to provide lasting solutions for clean water in rural and off-grid areas.
