The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Awotey Adjei, has urged all assembly members in the region to peacefully endorse the President’s nominees for Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to promote unity and development.
She made the call after commending members of the Kwahu South Assembly for peacefully endorsing their Municipal Chief Executive, Effah Osei Bonsu, popularly known as Ato Plans.
Madam Adjei encouraged other assemblies to emulate the example set by Kwahu South and stressed the importance of respecting presidential nominations.
She also appealed to the assemblies to support President John Mahama’s “Reset Agenda,” which seeks to accelerate national development.
Meanwhile, the newly endorsed MCE, Effah Osei Bonsu, has pledged to address the destruction of farmlands by Fulani herdsmen.
He also outlined plans to empower the youth through agriculture and appealed to journalists and residents to support efforts to develop the Kwahu South Municipality.
