The founder and leader of the Lord Jay Drivers Welfare, Torgbo Dziedzorm Wise, has issued a heartfelt appeal to drivers across the country, particularly members of the Lord Jay group, to prioritise road safety, stressing that the lives of countless families depend on them.
Speaking to Adom News after a health walk, Torgbo Wise said: “As drivers, we must always remember that we carry people’s wives, professors, children, and breadwinners. Their lives are literally in our hands. One careless mistake can destroy an entire family. Let’s drive safely and responsibly.”
The health walk formed part of the group’s ongoing efforts to promote the well-being of its members.
The event featured physical exercise, shared meals, and social activities aimed at fostering unity and encouraging a healthy lifestyle among drivers.
Torgbo Wise emphasized the importance of such events in not only improving health but also creating a support system among drivers.
“This is more than just a walk. It’s about coming together, taking care of ourselves, and reminding each other of the responsibility we carry on the roads,” he said.
Joining him at the event were the President of the Lord Jay Drivers Welfare and other key members of the association.
They also took the opportunity to call on drivers nationwide to consider joining the group, highlighting the support and advocacy it provides for drivers’ welfare.
“Lord Jay is not just a group; it’s a family that cares deeply for the physical, emotional, and professional well-being of every driver,” said the president.
“We think about the driver’s future, their health, and the safety of the people they serve every day. If you’re a driver out there, we encourage you to join us and be part of something meaningful.”
The group also used the platform to advocate for discipline and integrity among commercial drivers, urging them to avoid speeding, drinking and driving, and the use of mobile phones while driving. And eat properly for their health safety.
