DRIP Tipper truck impounded over unauthorized use in Oforikrom

In a bold move to uphold accountability and discipline within the District Development Road Infrastructure Programme (DRIP), National DRIP Coordinator Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has impounded a DRIP Tipper truck in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The vehicle was being used for an unauthorized assignment by an uncertified driver. Upon questioning, the driver revealed that he had been assigned the task by the Oforikrom Assembly Member to work in Sewua.

However, the vehicle broke down en route, and Vanderpuye chanced upon it. When contacted, the Assembly Member, who also serves as the District DRIP Coordinator, confirmed assigning the task but could not verify the driver’s certification.

Vanderpuye warned him of potential surcharges for repair costs.

Meanwhile, Deputy National DRIP Coordinator for the Southern Sector, Ing. Kwadwo Aboagye, instructed the driver to surrender the vehicle keys and report to the district police station.
