The DRIP Secretariat has taken decisive action against the Korley Klottey and Accra Metropolitan Assemblies (AMA) for misusing equipment.
National DRIP Coordinator, Edwin Nii Lantey Vandepuye, impounded the equipment after several warnings to ensure its proper use.
The machinery, including a payloader and a backhoe, was spotted being used to collect refuse at Kantamanto in the Greater Accra Region without authorisation.
This prompted the DRIP Secretariat to seize the keys to prevent further misuse.
Mr Vandepuye also warned other Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) against using DRIP equipment without permission, stressing the need to strictly adhere to regulations and guidelines governing its usage.
