Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Mr Osman Ayariga

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, has urged voters in the Akwatia Constituency not to be intimidated by the heavy security presence ahead of the upcoming by-election.

He assured residents that the deployment of police and other security agencies was solely to maintain peace and order.

Speaking during a community engagement, Mr Ayariga stressed that the role of the security services was to safeguard voters and ensure that the polls were conducted fairly and peacefully.

“Don’t be alarmed by the presence of police officers. They are here to protect you and to provide security so that everyone can freely exercise their right to vote,” he said.

He encouraged constituents to turn out in their numbers on election day and vote without fear, noting that their voices and choices were crucial in shaping the future of Akwatia.

“The most important thing is that you come out boldly and vote. Do not let fear or intimidation keep you away from making your voices heard,” he added.

Mr Ayariga also appealed to political parties, stakeholders, and the electorate to conduct themselves responsibly throughout the process, stressing that peaceful participation would set a positive example for Ghana’s democratic tradition.
