Don’t abandon ongoing projects – Chief tells Obuasi East MCE

-

The Regent of the Akrokere Divisional Council, Nana Kofi Bekye, has appealed to the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Obuasi East to prioritize the completion of development projects initiated by previous administrations to help advance the area.

This came to light when the new MCE, William Kofi Adzowu, and his team paid a courtesy call on the chiefs of the Akrokere Divisional Council in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region to formally introduce himself.

Speaking to Adom News at the Akrokere Chief’s Palace, Nana Kofi Bekye cautioned the MCE against following in the footsteps of past officials who clashed with traditional authorities over land issues. Instead, he urged Mr. Adzowu to focus on completing stalled projects to avoid wasting public resources and investments.

In response, Mr. Adzowu assured the chiefs of his commitment to development. He mentioned that projects such as the uncompleted school buildings at Bossman and Domeabra are high on his agenda and would be completed without delay.

He also highlighted the long-standing plan to relocate the Boete timber market to Boete Senet to pave the way for the construction of a new lorry terminal—an initiative that has been pursued by successive governments.

According to him, the vision remains intact, and he is determined to see it through. He acknowledged the groundwork laid by his predecessor in facilitating the relocation process.
