DOL: Na God FC survive accident, head coach and players left injured

-

Ghanaian Division One League outfit Na God FC narrowly escaped tragedy on Sunday evening after their team bus was involved in a serious accident near Aboasa, a few kilometres from the Adomi Bridge in the Eastern Region.

The accident occurred as the team was returning to Accra from Ho, where they had battled Home Stars to a goalless draw in a Zone 3 Division One League encounter.

According to the team’s assistant coach, Alex Ayi, who recounted the incident on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, the crash happened when a trailer rammed into the back of their bus, forcing the driver to lose control and swerve off the road into a nearby coconut plantation.

Head coach Moses Kofi sustained a serious injury, while seven players suffered minor wounds.

The injured were initially taken to the Juapong Community Clinic and later transferred to the VRA Hospital in Akosombo before being moved to Accra for further treatment.

Coach Ayi added that the driver of the trailer responsible for the collision has since been arrested by the Ghana Police Service.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the postponement of Na God FC’s FA Cup match originally scheduled for this weekend.
