The Denkyira Traditional Council has lifted the ban on funerals, noise-making, and social gatherings across the Denkyira Traditional Area, following the completion of all preparatory rites for the enthronement and coronation of the 26th King of the Denkyira Kingdom.

The ban, which took effect on September 22, 2025, was a customary measure aimed at ensuring peace, order, and spiritual sanctity during the sacred coronation processes.

Announcing the decision during the 8th Akwasidae Festival on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Amponsem Ahenfie in Dunkwa-on-Offin, the Denkyirahene, Odeefour Boa Amponsem IV, officially declared an end to the restrictions.

He expressed deep appreciation to chiefs, elders, and citizens of Denkyira for their patience, discipline, and cooperation throughout the observance period.

Odeefour Boa Amponsem IV urged the people to uphold unity, peace, and love as the foundation for the kingdom’s continued progress. He reaffirmed his commitment to leading with humility and dedication, emphasizing that Denkyira’s strength lies in the harmony and cooperation of its people.
