Award-winning Nigerian singer Davido has dismissed social media claims suggesting he was slapped during a recent appearance in Warri, Delta State.
A viral clip that circulated online over the weekend showed the artiste surrounded by security personnel and fans in a heated atmosphere. In the video, a quick movement appeared to show Davido being struck on the head, sparking wild speculation on social media.
One user amplified the rumours with the post: “Warri people no get joy oo. See dem sl@p Davido for head.”
Reacting via his official X handle, Davido clarified that he was never attacked, explaining that the incident was simply a mistake by one of his security aides.
“Mumu, that was my security… hit me by mistake… saddist,” he wrote, dismissing the claims.
His clarification calmed fans who had expressed concern over the viral footage, with many applauding his humour in defusing the controversy.
