A member of the planning committee for Daddy Lumba’s funeral, Collins Owusu Amankwah, has confirmed that the final funeral rites of the music legend will take place this Saturday, December 13, in Kumasi.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, he said preparations have been progressing smoothly despite an ongoing court case.

“The funeral will take place this Saturday, 13th December, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. He passed away in July, and the one-week observation was held on 30th August. A review meeting with the entire family was held on 2nd September,” he explained.

Mr. Amankwah noted that a major stakeholder meeting led to the agreement on the final date.

He emphasized that while legal proceedings continued, the planning committee carried out its responsibilities to ensure a successful ceremony.

“It was a big stakeholder meeting where the date was concluded. Even though the court case was ongoing, the planners were also making preparations,” he added.
