The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has cautioned recent high school graduates against posting indecent and irresponsible content on social media.
The Authority said it has observed troubling online behaviour from some graduates, including threats such as “we go scatter them” and claims about “snatching people’s husbands,” which have stirred public concern.
According to the CSA, such conduct not only damages reputations but also exposes individuals to cyberbullying, harassment, and possible breaches of Ghana’s cybercrime laws.
It further warned that universities, employers, and scholarship boards often review applicants’ online activity, meaning careless posts could jeopardize future opportunities.
The Authority therefore urged graduates to use social media responsibly by focusing on personal growth, networking, and entrepreneurship, while noting that every online activity contributes to a permanent digital footprint.
It assured the public of continued collaboration with the Ministry of Education, civil society organisations, and community leaders to promote responsible digital citizenship among young people.
