The Accra Circuit Court has adjourned the case involving Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye, to November 26, 2025.
The adjournment followed his appearance in court on Monday, pending the assignment of a new judge to preside over the matter.
Baffoe, the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been charged with offensive conduct and the publication of false news. He has pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of GH¢50,000.
He is alleged to have made offensive and abusive remarks during a live broadcast on Ohia TV, targeting the Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno.
Specifically, he is reported to have said: “The current Inspector General of Police has low Intelligence Quotient (IQ) and he is the most foolish IGP in the history of Ghana.”
Additionally, Baffoe is alleged to have published false news on September 3, 2025, during the Ohia Online TV programme The Evidence, claiming that “all strategic meetings conducted by the NDC in Akwatia had the IGP in attendance.”
