The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department has announced the official salary payment schedule for civil servants, Ghana Education Service staff, and other public sector workers on the government payroll for 2026.
According to the notice, banks will begin crediting workers’ accounts on specific dates each month, providing a clear timetable for salary disbursement throughout the year.
Salaries for January, February, and March are scheduled to be paid on January 23, February 26, and March 26 respectively. April payments will be made on April 27, while May and June salaries will be credited on May 26 and June 26.
For the second half of the year, payments are expected on July 27 and August 27, followed by September 25. October and November salaries will be paid on October 26 and November 26, with the final payment for the year set for December 21.
The Department emphasised that these dates indicate when banks will begin processing and crediting salaries into accounts.
It added that any changes to the schedule will be communicated through official channels.
