Complete abandoned Agenda 111 projects in Diaso – Upper Denkyira West MP to govt

Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West Constituency in the Central Region, Rudolf Amoako-Gyampa,

The Member of Parliament for Upper Denkyira West in the Central Region, Rudolf Amoako-Gyampa, has called on the government and the Ministry of Health to urgently complete the abandoned Agenda 111 projects in Diaso.

The projects, which were initiated under the previous NPP administration, are about 45% complete but were abandoned by contractors before the 2024 general election. The sites have since become overgrown with weeds, with no security presence, raising concerns about the safety of materials and the integrity of the structures.

According to Mr. Amoako-Gyampa, the neglect of the project has left residents of Upper Denkyira West struggling to access healthcare. He noted that many constituents are forced to travel long distances to seek medical care, a situation that sometimes leads to loss of lives or worsening of health conditions.

“The people of Upper Denkyira West are suffering. The delay in completing this project has serious consequences for healthcare delivery in the constituency,” he lamented.

The MP urged the government and the Minister of Health to prioritize the completion of the projects, stressing the importance of continuity in governance.

“Regardless of political transitions, it is vital that development projects are completed. That is the only way state resources can be put to good use,” he added.

Mr. Amoako-Gyampa further emphasized that completing the Diaso hospital under Agenda 111 will greatly improve healthcare delivery and provide residents with essential medical services.
