Chief Executive Officer of Ashanti Gold football club has said comparing the just ended MTN FA CUP to the Ghana Premier league are putting square pegs in round holes.
On the back drop of a successive organization of the FA Cup, many have called for the Ghana Football Association to hand over the organization of the Ghana premier league to the committee of the later. This Mr. Fianoo says is wrong because both competitions have
different dynamics.
“The system for the FA Cup is different from the league. The league is played over thirty weeks whereas the Fa Cup is more of a knock out competition”, Mr. Fianoo stated on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sport show Wednesday.
“The organizations of both competitions are different and we need to stop comparing the two. We commend the organizers of both competitions”, he concluded.
Mr. Fianoo who doubles as president of the Ghana League Clubs Association led Ashgold to finish 12th with 41points in the 2016/2017 premier league season.
