The nine-member Governing Board of the Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC) Limited has been officially inaugurated, signaling a renewed commitment to operational efficiency, stakeholder empowerment, and safeguarding Ghana’s leadership in the global cocoa industry.
Deputy Minister for Finance, Thomas Ampem Nyarko, officiated the inauguration ceremony.
The board is chaired by the Majority Leader in Parliament, Mahama Ayariga, while Dr. Wisdom Kofi Dogbey continues as managing director.
The leadership team aims to implement strategies focused on sustainability, increasing cocoa yields, and combating cocoa smuggling — a persistent challenge in the sector.
The board’s mandate includes delivering greater value to cocoa farmers and the national economy through improved operations and enhanced collaboration across the cocoa value chain.
The newly appointed members of the CMC Governing Board are:

Mrs. Matilda Asiedu Asante – Member
Hon. Kofi Benteh Afful, MP – Member
Hon. Desmond De-Graft Paitoo, MP – Member
Mr. Abraham Appiah Kubi – Member
Nana Kwasi Ofori – Member
Mr. Johnson Nana Kyei – Member
As a key subsidiary of COCOBOD, the Cocoa Marketing Company is responsible for the sale and export of Ghana’s cocoa.
The new board is expected to strengthen the company’s role as a pillar of Ghana’s agricultural export economy.
